Toenail Fungal Infection Study
Study Background
This clinical research study is investigating a potential tropical treatment for mild to moderate toenail fungal infections (onychomycosis). Onychomycosis is a common chronic condition that causes thickening, discoloration, and damage to the toenails. It can be persistent and difficult to treat, especially when the infection is under the nail plate.
Current treatments include oral antifungal medications and topical solutions, but these can have limitations such as side effects, long treatment durations, or poor nail penetration. The investigational treatment aims to penetrate the nail more effectively and improve treatment outcomes compared to current approved treatments.
Participants in this study will be randomly assigned to receive either the investigational treatment, a placebo, or an approved topical antifungal treatment.
