Migraine Headache Study
Study Background
Migraine headaches are a common, debilitating medical condition, impacting more than 4.9 million Australians. The majority of people living with migraines will experience reductions in social activities and work capacity. The direct and indirect costs of migraine headaches in Australia is estimated to be approximately $35.7 billion per annum.
Many patients do not respond adequately to existing treatments and there is an unmet need for new treatment options to improve the quality of life of people living with migraine headaches.
This study is researching an investigational treatment for people living with migraine headaches who are between the ages of 18 and 65. This potential treatment utilises a different mechanism of action from existing acute migraine therapies.
Study Details
The study would require you to come to the clinic for 3 visits over a maximum period of 3-months. Visits will range from 30 minutes to 3 hours. At the visits we will check your medical history, conduct physical examinations and administer the treatment. At the end of the second visit, you will receive a bottle containing a single dose of the medication to administer at home when you have a migraine attack. You will be reimbursed for your time in the research study.
